If you ever wanted to settle the debate between whether to call it a sub or a hoagie, now is your chance.

I took it upon myself to google “National Sub Day” and I came up with nothing. So, I think the results speak for themselves!

National Hoagie Day is today, May 5th. There are so many great places to get a hoagie.

Long ago, I was introduced to the Cheesesteak Hoagie. I didn’t know cheesesteaks could get any better than they already were. But then, someone added mayo and lettuce to it and my world was turned upside down.

Another favorite was constructed during those all-nighters in college and study sessions fueled by my go-to Wawa order.

For me, nothing beats a turkey and provolone shortie on a wheat roll with lettuce, onions, pickles, banana peppers, yellow mustard and mayo.

So which Wilmington Sandwich Shop Is Home To Delaware’s Most Popular Hoagie?

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop put a full Thanksgiving dinner on a hoagie roll and it’s all the craze.

The family-owned restaurant named the holiday favorite, The Bobbie.

If you’re looking for the popular standard Italian masterpiece, Yelp has listed Gaudiello’s as the best in Delaware.

Located in Trolley Square and owned  by a husband and wife team, they rank with 4.5 stars because of their personal touch. The owners reportedly slice the meat themselves and prepare everything to order while you wait.

If you’re looking for a lunch stop today, either of these choices would leave you full and satisfied.
