It’s not that uncommon anymore, a lot of people need a little extra income these days. With the cost of housing on the rise, among other things, Pennsylvania ranks 9th in the top 10 states looking for side hustles.
Business advice specialists Venture Smarter analyzed search data from Google Keyword Planner for 100 terms related to the term ‘side hustle.’ The average number of monthly searches for these 100 search terms were calculated for each state as a proportion of 100,000 residents.
If you’ve googled anything related to side hustles recently, your search data may have been used for this information.
Utah is the state with the most people looking for a side hustle, according to the study.
The other states that fell next in line were Arizona, Colorado, New York, Nevada, Nebraska, Georgia, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Missouri and Mississippi.
If you counted, you said “Wait, that’s 11, this is a top 10…” Pennsylvania and Texas tied for 9th. They both had 302 searches on average per 100,000 people.
A spokesperson for Venture Smarter commented: “With rising living costs, it has become necessary for many households to look for additional sources of income to cover the cost of their daily expenses.
