This Delaware City Named One Of The Happiest Towns In America
I absolutely love living in the First State and one Delaware city has been named one of the happiest towns in America.
Growing up in Florida, all I ever wanted to do was live in a place with all four seasons. Since I’ve moved here to Wilmington, I feel like I’m happier than I ever have been. I love watching the fall leaves change. The possibility of a White Christmas, or snow at all, gives me so much excitement. When summer rolls around, we’ve got plenty of gorgeous beaches to enjoy and the colors of the flowers in the spring time are my absolute favorite.
What makes a town the happiest?
Active lifestyle enthusiast magazine Outside wanted to find the happiest towns in America. They looked at things like outdoor access, affordability, safety and diversity among other things. They started with a list of 300 contenders and carefully narrowed it down to 15. One Delaware city made the list of the happiest towns. While they’re all very different and from different parts of the country, one thing they have in common are very happy residents.
The Happiest Towns in America
Guess what? Wilmington, Delaware is on the list. Those of us who live here know how much Wilmington has to offer. In addition to all I mentioned above about the four seasons, I personally love the proximity to big cities like Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.. Wilmington is also very walkable with plenty of parks and a beautiful riverfront. The food scene is incredible too.
These are the other happiest towns in America:
- Anchorage, Alaska
- Charlottesville, Virginia
- Cincinnati, Ohio
- Frederick, Maryland
- Glenwood Springs, Colorado
- Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
- Hood River, Oregon
- Madison, Wisconsin
- Minneapolis, Minnesota
- New Orleans, Louisiana
- Plano, Texas
- Reno, Nevada
- St. Petersburg, Florida
- Tacoma, Washington
