It's not even Halloween yet here in Wilmington, but it is already beginning to look a lot like Christmas. That's because of a big announcement by the self-proclaimed queen of the winter holiday. Mariah Carey announces her Merry Christmas tour dates and tickets go on sale this week. Presale is October 4th and general ticket sales open on October 6th. The Merry Christmas One and All Tour! kicks off November 15th in California but she has lots of dates on the east coast, including stops in Philadelphia and Baltimore.
Last year, she lost a battle to trademark the title of Queen of Christmas, but we don't need a court document to know that she indeed sits on that throne. The superstar gets into the spirit every holiday season with cheeky videos and announcements on social media that her fans wait for. Once the calendar flips from October to November it is officially the Christmas season. Mariah has been seen in videos smashing pumpkins with baseball bats while dressed in a red sequin gown. Last years she dressed as a witch and rode a Peloton bicycle into Christmas. She made the concert tour announcement on the former Twitter yesterday, now X.

A favorite for my family, and I know for most families, is Linvilla Orchards. Two of our favorite things to do are the corn maze and the apple slingshot. And of course, we can't leave without a pumpkin or five.

4. Filasky's Produce and Farm Market
Open Now in Middletown. U-Pick Pumpkins, a soybean maze designed for children and enjoyed by all, picture opportunities, and of course, a hayride through the field.
5. Hayrides at Hagley
Open now in Wilmington. Take a hayride along the Brandywine to experience the beautiful fall foliage in the Powder Yard.
6. Hayride Express at Wilmington & Western Railroads
Enjoy a 1-hour round-trip evening ride through the Red Clay Valley to Ashland on an original railroad flatcar converted especially for hayrides. Reservations are highly recommended.

Saturday, October 21, and Sunday, October 22 at Hagley Museum in Wilmington. This marketplace brings together talented artisans from the Mid-Atlantic area to display and sell fine arts, crafts, and gourmet items.
11. Hocus Pocus Outdoor Movie Night at Buena Vista Conference Center
An outdoor movie night featuring the Disney classic, Hocus Pocus. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and folding chairs. Costumes are also encouraged. Popcorn, apple cider, and hot chocolate will be available, as well as lawn games and a photo booth.
