Its pickin’ season and an Elkton apple orchard has been named one of the best in the United States.

Fall means pumpkins, pumpkin spice, and pickin’ those red delicious apples.

As soon as the first cool breeze runs through your hair something happens. You crave hoodies, bonfires, and any and all apple products.

Apple picking can be one of those pictures perfect experiences, until you pick too many apples and it becomes and unexpected workout.

You also wind up calling everyone in your contact list to see if they need any apples because you have no place to actually store them.

In all seriousness, apple picking can be a fun bonding experience for families and friends.

Picking the right apple orchard to pick them apples is key! Luckily, a local orchard is ranked among the best in the country.

An Elkton apple orchard recently made the list of “The 20 Best Apple Orchards In America” for 2023 put out by The Daily Meal.

“Maryland’s Milburn Orchard has been a beloved establishment since 1902. Today, run by the fourth-generation Milburns, this charmingly serene destination welcomes families from all across Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond, drawn by the joy of picking their own fruit. With upwards of 20 juicy apple varieties, as well as cherries, blackberries, and succulent peaches, there’s plenty to harvest at any time of the season” according to The Daily Meal.

The Daily Meal also reports Millburn Orchard was named the best orchard in the country in a 2022 reader’s choice poll conducted by USA Today.

The Elkton apple orchard is also known for local cheeses and honey along with ice cream and delicious breakfasts.

September hours for apple picking are Sat/Sun 9am-4pm and October hours are Sat/Sun 9am-5pm weather permitting.

Apple picking will run your $2 per person over the age of 2 years old or you can buy a season pass.
