Why Do We Always Remember How To Ride A Bike?
When you first learned how to ride a bike it might have taken more brain power than you’d expect. It is your brain that is responsible for keeping you balanced and making your muscles coordinate.
Jürgen Konczak is a neuroscientist with the University of Minnesota. He believes all that original mental energy it takes to learn is also the reason we never forget. He states that all of the brain connections that it takes to ride a bike are used in other activities as well. Like when we play sports, or do physical activity. Still things like this don’t use all of the same brain connections as riding your bike.
Since we still do all of those other activities our brain is used to making those connections. According to PopSci.com, that is why even after decades if you get on a bike you will still easily remember how to ride.
