Delaware Teacher Wins National Award
Melissa Tracy, a teacher at Odyssey Charter School in Wilmington received national recognition. Melissa was given the 2022 Change-maker Award which comes from the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
Being one of only ten people in the nation to receive this award, Melissa was recognized for her efforts in combating hunger. She humbly credited her students for learning about food and it’s role in our community.
Melissa started the garden on the school property and now leads classes in the Odyssey Hydroponic Learning Lab. She will also be teaching the first African American Studies course in Delaware starting next school year.
