Delaware State Police to Schedule DUI Checkpoints Throughout Delaware on Memorial Day Weekend
In anticipation of Memorial Day weekend and celebrations, there will be three sobriety DUI checkpoints scheduled in Delaware for the weekend.
On Friday May 28 at 10pm and continuing into Saturday May 29 at 2am, the Office of Highway Safety has announced there will be DUI checkpoints.
DUI checkpoints are put in place to educate Delawareans to plan ahead, especially if they will be drinking. Memorial Day typically shows an increase in potential drunk driving and impaired judgement behind the wheel.
The following are the scheduled checkpoint locations for the holiday weekend:
- New Castle County – Limestone Road in Wilmington
- Kent County – U.S. 13 in Dover
- Sussex County – State Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach
Seventy four law enforcement officers from twenty local, county, and municipal police agencies, in addition to Delaware State Police will be spread throughout the DUI checkpoints for Memorial Day.
