Wawa is now serving burgers at all of its 920 locations across Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Florida — a first item in the retail store’s new dinner menu. The convenience store, known for its breakfast menu and coffees, is all set to compete against other fast-food chains with its “all-natural Angus beef burger.”

“Wawa is excited to launch our new dinner platform in 2021 with the burger becoming the first dinner item to roll out across all stores,” Mike Sherlock, Wawa’s Chief Product Marketing Officer, said in a statement. “Burger festivities are designed to give customers a taste of the new product and drive excitement for a new line of fresh, quality and convenient options at dinner time.”
Similar to other meals sold at the store, Wawa burgers will be customizable as consumers will be offered a range of ingredients to choose from — cheese, bacon and several fresh toppings according to Eater Philadelphia.
Wawa has undergone a few innovations in the past few months. The chain opened its first ever drive-thru store in December in New Jersey, and installed its first stand-alone drive-thru in Pennsylvania. The two locations had been testing the new burger, which slowly became their best-selling menu item.
