Do Americans Feel Their Biological Age?
A recent study from South West News Services (SWNS) found that many Americans feel physically older than they actually are. In December 2020, the poll asked 2,000 Americans from the ages of 25 through 45 whether they feel older than their actual age and why.
64% of everyone surveyed said that they feel physically older than their biological age.
40% say they have inexplicable aches and pains.
34% say parenting has aged them.
40% say managing their physical health is challenging.
36% say that cooking a balanced dinner every night is annoying.
36% say budgeting is the worst part of adulthood.
34% say it’s keeping the house clean or buying nutritious groceries that is so difficult.
And finally 64% also said that they feel much older than they thought they would at their current age. According to Foxnews.com, our perception of aging is based more on cultural factors than our physical health. So just because you might feel older doesn’t mean you aren’t healthy!
