Delaware State University Receives $20 Million Donation From Jeff Bezos’ Ex-Wife

On Tuesday, Delaware State University received quite the donation from philanthropist and ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Scott. The $20 million dollar gift is unrestricted and is the largest donation they have ever received. According to delawarestatenews.net, there are 3 major areas the University plans on using their money towards. Some of the money will to go the Global Institute for Equity, Inclusion, and Civil Rights. They will also use the money to acquire Wesley College and they are looking to expand is their endowment and support scholarships.
Delaware State University along with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore are among 384 different organizations that have received part of the 4.15 billion dollars donated by Scott.
