Police Investigating Over $50,000 In Checks Stolen From Newark Mailboxes
The Newark Police Department has issued a public advisory in regards to checks totaling over $50,000 being stolen from mailboxes.
According to First State Update, Newark Police Department has received multiple reports of stolen checks from the United States Postal Service outgoing mail, after the mail was dropped off in USPS mailboxes around Newark.
The reported checks were cashed throughout various locations in the United States.
Newark Police has recommended making payments electronically rather than physically. Newark Police is working in cooperation with the United States Postal Inspection Service in regards to the stolen checks.
