If you were looking for a fun way to break up your day, the Wilmington Riverfront Presents The Lunchtime Entertainment Series.

The Wilmington Riverfront is already quickly becoming a high traffic area for local commuters. It's a great place to step outside of the office, walk around, enjoy the sights, take in some sunshine and get your steps in.

One thing that would make lunchtime even better, is if you added entertainment into the mix.

Imagine being able to step outside your office with your salad, sit on a bench and listen to some music!

Well, now you can.

All thanks to the Riverfront Development Corporation. The RDC is thrilled to announce the return of their Riverfront Summer Concert Series and Lunchtime Entertainment Series for 2023.

Evening concerts have been a long-standing tradition on the Riverfront. They will continue on Thursday evenings in July and August beginning July 6th from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

In addition, the Lunchtime Entertainment Series has been added again with performances at Hare Pavilion every Wednesday in June through August from 12:15-1:15.

The series will begin this week, just in time for the summer weather.

Experience an incredible lineup of jazz, rock, country, blues, and folk performances, all while soaking in the stunning scenery.
Best of all, these FREE events are open to all.

Traditional Foods to Try at Wilmington’s Greek Festival

Wilmington's Greek Festival has officially opened today, June 5 2023 at 11am. This is the 48th annual Greek Festival in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by Holy Trinity Church. This local event attracts hundreds of people to indulge in Greek traditions, festivities, music, food and culture.

Whether you dine or order to go, you have to try a little bit of everything when it comes to the food at Wilmington's Greek Festival. The Greek Festival is open June 5th through June 10th from 11am to 11pm. It is located at 808 N. Broom Street in Wilmington.

Pastitsio

Pastitsio is a Greek baked pasta dish with ground meat and béchamel sauce, basically like Greek lasagna.

Moussaka

Moussaka is an eggplant- or potato-based dish, often including ground meat, which is common in the Balkans and the Middle East, with many local and regional variations.

Dolmades

Dolmades are typically made with a filling of rice, minced meat, offal, seafood, fruit, or any combination of these inside a vegetable or a leaf wrapping.

Lamb Sandwich

Just what it sounds like, sometimes paired with tzatziki sauce.

Keftedes

Keftedes (Greek meatballs) is a famous Greek appetizer, commonly served as part of a meze platter, with some creamy tzatziki sauce and pita breads, and as a side to a slice of delicious traditional Greek Moussaka.

Spanakopita

Spanakopita is a Greek savory spinach pie. It often also contains cheese, typically feta, and may then be called spanakotiropita, especially in northern Greece.

Tyropita

Tiropita or tyropita is a Greek pastry made with layers of buttered phyllo and filled with a cheese-egg mixture. It is served either in an individual-size free-form wrapped shape, or as a larger pie that is portioned.

Chicken and Orzo

Orzo, also known as risoni, is a form of short-cut pasta, shaped like a large grain of rice. Orzo is traditionally made from flour, but it can also be made of whole grain.

Gyros

Gyros, anglicized as a gyro in some regions, is meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, then sliced and served wrapped or stuffed in pita bread, along with other ingredients such as tomato, onion, fried potatoes, and tzatziki.

Souvlaki

Souvlaki, is a popular Greek fast food consisting of small pieces of meat and sometimes vegetables grilled on a skewer. It is usually eaten straight off the skewer while still hot.

Loukoumades

Loukoumades are little bite-sized fluffy sweet honey balls (the Greek version of donuts), which are deep fried to golden and crispy perfection.
