The cool, fall air hits your face as you sip the cool, crisp fall beers this time of year produces.
Oktoberfest celebrations are my second favorite thing about the fall, the first being football.
In college we would attend our local Oktoberfest for the beer and food but would always look forward to the Weiner Dog races the most.

With the fall on the horizon these beer festivals and celebrations will start popping up left and right, and fortunately 2 Pennsylvania Oktoberfests are getting national recognition.
USA Today 10Best is rolling out the voting for their Reader’s Choice Awards and two drivable celebrations are tapped for the top prize.
The Reading Liederkranz Oktoberfest has been on my bucket list for awhile.
“Reading Liederkranz Oktoberfest celebrates all things Germany with the traditional food and fanfare you’d expect of this time-honored festival. Enjoy German delights in the beer garden and from food vendors while live music fills the air” USA Today says.
The Oktoberfest runs Wed Sept 27 thru Sun Oct 1 and will be Rain or Shine at 143 Spook Ln, Reading, PA 19606.
The other of the 2 Pennsylvania Oktoberfests will be a little more of a drive.
The Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest is located in Canonsburg which is southwest of Pittsburgh.
“German food, beer, and music enjoyed alongside carnival rides and contemporary live bands make the Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest one of fall’s most enticing events in Canonsburg. This annual fest attracts some 50,000 revelers and that number continues to grow” according to USA Today.
The Gaithersburg Oktoberfest was the other drivable celebration that made the list.
