Opera Delaware Is Popping Up and Popping Bottles
Opera Delaware Is Popping Up and Popping Bottles
Opera Delaware is focusing on bringing Opera into schools with Pop-up performances across the Brandywine Valley.
Pop-Up Opera recently received funding for five school visits thanks to Laffey-McHugh.
The schools next on the list are Cape Henlopen HS, John G. Leach School, Towsend Elementary, Mount Pleasant Elementary, and Springer Middle School. In a Press Release shared by Kerriann Otano (Vice President of Engagement with Opera DE), After the community nominated a staggering 40 schools, a selection committee chose the 5 listed above. The mobile stage will hit the road in mid-May, bringing our all-star artists to these students for an unforgettable end-of-school-year performance.
In addition, on June 4, 2023 OperaDE will be taking up residence in Independence Mall with their portable opera stage for performances from 2pm-5pm!
In partnership with Swigg, they will offer $15 wine tastings during the event. Check out the commercial

They’ll be pairing each course with musical selections from two of OperaDelaware’s most charismatic artists, mezzo-soprano Gina Perregrino and baritone Grant Youngblood.
