What Does A Worm Supermoon mean?
There will be a worm supermoon tonight.
It you look up into the sky tonight you’ll see the first supermoon of the year, which occurs when the moon is especially close to Earth while it’s full, making it look more large and bright than usual. This full moon is also known as the worm moon, named by Native Americans who gave nature-based names to each recurring full moon of the year. It’s called worm moon because this is the time of year the “ground begins to soften enough for earthworm casts to reappear, inviting robins and other birds to feed — a true sign of spring,” according to the Old Farmers’ Almanac.
