Brew lovers don’t need to travel far as Philly has been named one of the best beer cities in the United States.
Something we basically all knew has been confirmed: Philadelphia is KING when it comes to unique beers and drinking events.
In fact the entire Northeast corridor of this country really knocks it out of the park when it comes to brewing.
USA Today 10Best just released their “10 Best Beer Cities in the US.”
Philly came in 2nd overall according to USA Today 10Best!
The City of Brotherly Love is a hard-drinking town — ask anyone who’s been on South Street during last call — and more and more Philadelphians are focusing their efforts on enjoying the area’s impressive craft brews. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of top-notch beer bars, from the much-lauded Monk’s Cafe to the equally impressive City Tap House. Yards Brewing Company is the city’s most popular craft brewery, and there are several smaller outfits that have popped up in recent years. Perhaps it’s the year-round event calendar that sets Philly’s beer scene apart. Spanning 10 days, Philly Beer Week is the country’s oldest and biggest event of its kind.

Brewerytown in Philly was appropriately named! Its proximity to the Schuylkill River helped keep beer cold and also aided in developing early refrigeration for brews.
Beer was one of the main features during the first Constitution Day celebrations and parades. Constitution Day was the day Pennsylvania ratified the U.S. Constitution.
The entire tri-state area has legendary breweries and beers, but Philly is the places to be for the full beer experience.
