FEEL GOOD: Homecoming Party For Local Dance Teacher Who Beat Coronavirus!
76 year old Veronica McAleer, known to our community as Miss Veronica has been teaching Irish dance for more than 50 years. She was supposed to be the Grand Marshall for the Wilmington St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Obviously the parade was canceled but Miss Veronica tested positive for coronavirus. After two weeks at Wilmington Hospital, Miss Veronica beat COVID-19 and yesterday she was discharged. Friends and students threw her a socially distant welcome home party with about 20 cars filled with supporters. Miss Veronica said “I feel like jumping in the sky. I am so excited that I beat it because I honestly didn’t think I was going to.” She looks forward to FaceTiming her sisters and will be heading to Disney World for Christmas. By the way, Miss Veronica walks FIVE MILES everyday!
