Retired Delaware Crossing Guard Celebrates With A Facial Piercing
There are many ways to mark a momentus occasion. Some people have a party, buy themselves something nice, or go out to dinner. This one Retired Delaware Crossing Guard Celebrates With A Facial Piercing.
Delores Nevaras has been a crossing guard in New Castle, Delaware for quite some time.
The 82-year-old started as a Delaware Crossing guard in 1972 at Castle Hills Elementary School on Moores Lane. Her last day on the job with the Colonial School District is today.
“It’s been a pleasure being here 51 years. My husband retired from General Motors and I just decided it was time for me to leave now,” Nevaras told Action News.
Usually, she has to wake up at 4am for work and now she can enjoy quiet mornings and sleeping in. On top of having her morning coffee from her couch, she introduced a new responsibility into her life; cleaning her new nose ring.
That’s right. Nevaras recently crossed an item off on her bucket list and got her nose pierced! That’s definitely a unique way to celebrate your retirement.
I’m sure if she had gotten her nose pierced while she was still employed, the kids would have found it to be pretty cool that this Delaware Crossing Guard stays hip.
The one question we want answered is, will she wear a stud or a hoop once it’s healed?
