Part of Philadelphia Pike Will Shut Down In Both Directions For Road Work Starting Next Week
DelDot is planning some roadwork that will cause some traffic headaches in the Claymont area starting next week. WDEL reported that both directions of Philadelphia Pike between Alcott Ave and Naamans road will shut down on Monday August 3rd. The road will remain closed for about a month. DelDot said workers will be removing the railroad bridge that previously connected both sides of the Claymont steel mill property. The second project they will be working on is a sewer installation. If this is part of your daily commute, be sure to allow extra time or find an alternate route.
