Income Assistance

- For residents of Pennsylvania: According to the Pennsylvania Government website, residents who are unable to work due to COVID-19 may be eligible for Unemployment Compensation or Workers Compensation. As of right now, the Waiting Week has been suspended and Work Search and Work Registration requirements have been waved.

Utilities, Rent, Etc.
- Delmarva Power Electric & Gas have decided not to suspend services due to non-payments. Click here for more information.
- PECO Eletric has suspended service disconnections for late payments through at least May 1st, 2020. Read here for the full list of precautions and action steps.
- United Way states that if you need food assistance, paying housing bills, accessing free childcare, or other essential services to contact 2-1-1 or locate your local 211 helpline via their website for support.
Food Assistance
- Colonial School District is offering Grab and Go meals to children 18 and under. Children must be present to receive lunches. For more information click here.
- Food Bank of Delaware has set up three drive thru food pantries for residents who need food assistance. Click here for more information.
- The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has issued a statement and press release providing locations and information for residents to find food. Click here for the full list of food pantries and county support.
- Salem County Schools is providing grab and go food for students. Click here for more information.
Children & Families
- New Castle County has closed many of their public buildings including libraries, Absalom Jones Community Center, and many more. Click here for their press release on the building closures.
- Learning Resources for Colonial School District.

- Cecil County Public Schools has provided at home learning resources for students along with meals for students who need food assistance. Click here for the details.
Pet Care

- Sam’s Hope Pet Food Program provides temporary pet food assistance to pet owners residing in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Click here for more information.
Support for Small Businesses
- A Delaware Hospitality Emergency Loan Program. For information on how and where to apply click here. Delaware has also been approved for an Economic Injury Disaster Declaration.
- The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development is offering working capital loans to assist businesses impacted by COVID-19. Click here for resources and information.
Small Business Administration Updated Disaster Assistance Loans (As of March 17th, 2020)
- The S. Small Business Administration has updated their Disaster Assistance Loan criteria to support more small business. According to a recent press release from the SBA, the following criteria will have two immediate impacts:
- Faster, Easier Qualification Processes
- Expanded, Statewide Access to the SBA Disaster Assistance Loans.
