Delaware Will End COVID-19 Public Health Emergency In May
Delaware announced it will end it’s COVID-19 public health order that same day that the federal government does.
The end date will be on May 11th Governor Carney announced this week.
President Biden had previously announced this months ago and now the first state will follow suit.
According to a press release:
“Consistent with the ending of the federal public health emergency, and with Delaware’s continued progress in moving beyond COVID-19, we’ll plan to end our public health order this May,” said Governor Carney. “We will keep working with businesses and the health care industry as we finalize this transition. Thank you to each and every Delawarean who helped us get to where we are today.”
Delaware Law states that Public Health Emergency orders must be renewed every 30 days.
The order was previously extended on March 23, 2023 and will need to be renewed mid April in order to meet the May 11th end date.
The order will be terminated on May 11th.
The end to the order is subject to any unanticipated developments.
The previous extension was the 14th of the order.
