Texas Governor Opening State; Ending Mask Mandate
Governor George Abbott of Texas has made an executive order that will go into effect on March 10, 2021.
This new order will open Texas to 100% and end the mask mandate throughout the state. The Gov. made the decision after the decline in hospitalizations and more residents of Texas having been vaccinated.
The announcement came on Tuesday afternoon in an address to the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.
“With the medical advancements of vaccines and antibody therapeutic drugs, Texas now has the tools to protect Texans from the virus,” Abbott said. “We must now do more to restore livelihoods and normalcy for Texans by opening Texas 100 percent.
“With this executive order, we are ensuring that all businesses and families in Texas have the freedom to determine their own destiny.”
