Eagles Fans Tailgate Release Of Kelly Green Jerseys
Eagles fans descended upon Lincoln Financial Field on Monday to tailgate the release of the throwback Kelly Green jerseys.
This proving that given the chance Birds fans will tailgate just about anything, maybe even a funeral.
It has been 13 seasons since the Eagles have donned the Kelly Green jerseys in a game and fans have been waiting for them to return.
The original unveiling of the Eagles new Kelly Green jerseys was supposed to be July 31st, but internet sleuths leaked pictures of Jalen Hurts. Devonta Smith, and Brandon Graham wearing the new threads…so the Eagles pivoted and showed the public the beautiful new kits.
So why are fans So obsessed with the Kelly Green jerseys? In my opinion nostalgia reigns supreme.
The Bird have worn some variation of Kelly Green for most of their existence. The current Midnight Green has only been around since the late 90’s.
Vintage and throwback clothing is a hot item now, helping fan the flames on fans fascination with the Kelly Green throwbacks.
In true Birds fans fashion, clothing coveters lined up outside the Eagles Pro Shop as early as 3 a.m.!
E-A-G-L-E-S rang out across South Philly as Jell-O shots were passed around for breakfast.
The faithful wore their Birds gear in hope of grabbing some of the south after retro gear.
Hats, helmets, shirts, and jerseys were sifted through as the Pro Shop opened at 9 a.m. sharp….6 hours after people began to line-up.
Food trucks and Eagles cheerleaders entertained line sitters for those early morning hours.

The Eagles are scheduled to wear the “new” set of uniforms for two games this season. The Birds will rock the retro on October 22nd against the Miami Dolphins and on November 26th against the Buffalo Bills according to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philly.
