Holiday Magic At Riverbright Wilmington
Holiday Magic At Riverbright Wilmington is here! And Mix 99.5 WJBR will be there this holiday season!
We are so lucky to have so many beautiful places to spend time with friends and loved ones here in the Brandywine Valley!
One of my favorite places is Riverfront Wilmington. So much so, that’s how I spent my Fathers Day last year! We spent the day walking along the Christina, miniature golfing, dining at one of the awesome riverfront restaurants and eating ice cream!
And now we can have special holiday times along Riverfront Wilmington. This past weekend, the Christina Riverwalk was completely transformed into a walk-through holiday light display.
Enjoy trees and archways wrapped in holiday lights and holiday décor in the entire area. Plus between now and Christmas there will be special events including visits from Santa, a petting zoo and live broadcasts by yours truly on Mix 99.5 WJBR, Delaware’s Christmas Station!
The festive holiday lights run for about 2 miles along the entire walk, right up the the DuPont Environmental Center.
Holiday Magic Riverbright Wilmington is just the start of light displays along the riverfront walk. Many of the lights will remain up and change seasonally.

Christmas Tree Farms Near Wilmington DE
Wanna cut down your own tree this year? We are lucky that there are so many Christmas tree farms near Wilmington DE!
I grew up in Mays Landing NJ and growing up we cut our own trees!
However, we did not go to a tree farm. My Dad would find a field where shapely cedar trees would grow. Of course as a child I never gave any thought that those trees may have been standing on private property. And clearly my Dad did not care! We would quietly wander the field and my renegade Dad would saw the tree down. We did this for many years, until an incident, caused by me, happened one year.
Not realizing we were quietly trespassing and actually stealing a tree, I yelled “TIMBER!!” Well with that my Dad gave me a dirty look and said RUN! We ran to my Dad’s pick up, tossed the tree in the back and got out of there! (Read my brothers account here!)
That was the last time we did that.
Of course, not being a renegade like my Dad (who passed away in 1991) me and my own family have always gone to a Christmas tree farm. From the time they were little right up to recent years. It’s such a great family experience as there is always a camp fire burning, hot chocolate to be had and a hey ride into the field.
Over the years we’ve gotten many trees from close-by Linvila Orchards.
Below, check out my list of the best Christmas tree farms near Wilmington DE!
Most offer the cut your own tree experience, while others offer early season tagging where you can tag early for the tree to be cut down at a later time.
Most open this weekend or just after Thanksgiving.
