Three Delaware Schools Named 2022 National Blue Ribbon Schools.
This week, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona recognized 297 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2022, including three schools in Delaware.
The award is based on a school’s academic performance and progress in closing achievement gaps among students.
My kids grew up in the 90’s and 2000’s and were lucky to attend a Blue Ribbon School where we live in Media PA. Therefore I learned firsthand what an amazing accomplishment this is.
The Department recognizes all schools in one of two performance categories, based on all student scores, subgroup student scores and graduation rates:
• Exemplary High-Performing Schools are among their state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests.
• Exemplary Achievement Gap-Closing Schools are among their state’s highest performing schools in closing achievement gaps between a school’s student groups and all students.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has been awarded to about 9,000 schools over the years. The award affirms and validates the hard work of students, families, educators and communities.
Secretary Cardona commented; “I applaud all the honorees for the National Blue Ribbon School award.”
We congratulate these three Delaware schools Named 2022 National Blue Ribbon winners!
