Delaware County Bar Features Caprese Salad Cocktail
An interesting drink has popped up on Delaware County residents radars as a newer bar has created a Caprese salad cocktail.
I love a nice cold tomato, a fresh slice of mozzarella, and a little drizzle of balsamic on my plate. But all those ingredients in a cocktail glass?
I am willing to try it. I’m more willing to try it because of the creative name.
The Caprese Salad cocktail is called “You Drivin’ Me Caprese.”
I am a sucker for creative cocktail and wing sauce names.
The restaurant Two Fourteen in Media is home to this very interesting summer cocktail.
So what does this Caprese Salad cocktail taste like?
According to Delco Today “It’s dry, balanced, and refreshing even with 2 ounces of Bacardi and a half-ounce of garlic-infused rum. It starts with a batch of tomato water, or tomato juice from heirloom, cherry, and grape tomatoes strained twice. Add to that sugar, salt, fresh basil, roasted garlic, oregano, and black pepper.”
But the cocktail doesn’t stop there! The rum is INFUSED with garlic for 10 days! The cocktail also features lime juice, simple syrup, Bacardi white rum, and of course a ball of mozzarella.
The Caprese Salad cocktail at this Delaware County bar is the creation of their beverage manager who challenged themselves to create a cocktail to match their summer menu offerings.
Two Fourteen’s cocktail menu doesn’t stop at “You Drivin’ Me Caprese.”
They also feature a honeycomb gin cocktail called “Mind Ya Beez Wax” and vodka and aperol drink called “At The Pool Spritz.”
“Two Fourteen offer seasonally inspired cuisine in a cozy, upbeat atmosphere. Two Fourteen offers uniquely crafted cocktails created with house-made syrups and fresh squeezed juices, along with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients for the kitchen’s distinct, made from scratch menu” according to their website.
Two Fourteen is located at 214 West State Street in Media, PA 19063.
