Post Malone to Sing ‘America the Beautiful’ at the Super Bowl
Post Malone is going to perform for millions on the Super Bowl stage next month. He, Reba McEntire, and Andra Day are each slated to perform in the pregame lineup. Usher, of course, is performing at Halftime. The NFL and Roc Nation announced on Thursday (January 18) that the genre-hopping musician will perform “America the Beautiful” live on CBS from Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, at the February 11 game. Meanwhile, Reba will sing “The Star Spangled Banner” while Andra will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
In the comments section of the NFL’s announcement on social media, fans of Posty flooded the comments with wanting the artist to be the halftime performer. One fan went so far as to say: “Why is Post Malone not doing the halftime show. Usher is 1000 years old in music years.” Another fan commented, “Posty should really be the halftime show. The man has had more Hot 100 hits than the Beatles. He’s universally loved and beyond talented.”
Usher last performed at the Super Bowl in 2011 when he made a special appearance during the Black Eyed Peas’ set. The “Burn” singer shared his Vogue feature photos on social media leading up to his halftime performance. As we previously reported, Usher said, “It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.” This year’s pregame entertainment and halftime show will also feature American Sign Language performances, as it does every year for every song. Last year’s Super Bowl performance featured a pregnant Rihanna as headliner. The pregame performers included Chris Stapleton, Babyface, and Sheryl Lee Ralph. The event earned five Emmy nominations, winning two: Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special. Jay-Z has executive produced the halftime show since 2020, as his company Roc Nation, partnered with the NFL in 2019.
Who Will Play The Super Bowl Halftime Show In 2025?
The Super Bowl is not only the biggest event every year in the sporting world, but the Halftime Show is also the biggest entertainment event. Even though the Halftime show is under 15 minutes, it is talked about months in advance. And if the performance is successful, it’ll be talked about for years afterward. Only the biggest names in music have had the honor to grace the Super Bowl stage: Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Aerosmith, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Who, Prince, the Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Beyonce, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and The Weeknd, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and 50 Cent, Rihanna, and Usher.
Super Bowl LVII show took place in Glendale, Arizona’s State Farm Stadium, and featured Rihanna. Fans who were hotly anticipating new music were given another surprise by the “Diamonds” singer. Debuting her pregnant belly, the artist’s performance wasn’t as electrifying as anticipated due to her inability to do any crazy choreography. The show’s elevated stages and backup dancers tried to compensate for that. As with any pop artist, people online were criticizing her choice of wardrobe and debated on whether or not she was pregnant, as she waited until after the show to confirm it. Though this wasn’t the comeback we wanted from Rihanna, it was still great to watch her perform for the first time in years.

For Super Bowl LVIII, R&B superstar Usher shook the stage with a medley of his biggest hits. He brought along Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Lil Jon, H.E.R., will.i.am, and Jermaine Dupri for the halftime show. Back in April, he told Access Hollywood that he “would be a fool to say no” to headline the Super Bowl, a “bucket list” dream of his. Usher has sold over 23 million albums and 38 million digital songs in the United States. With over 80 million records sold worldwide, the “There Goes My Baby” singer is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. See who we predict will take the stage for Super Bowl LIX below:
