Wilmington Hotel Restaurant Ranked As 8th Best In The Country

After tons of voting a Wilmington hotel restaurant was ranked as the 8th best in the United States!

At the beginning of August voting for the “10 best hotel restaurants in the US: Dream destinations for foodies and travelers” opened and  Le Cavalier located inside Hotel Du Pont was selected as one of the finalists.

After readers of USA Today 10Best voted the Wilmington hotel restaurant finished in 8th place overall!

“Le Cavalier pays homage to the Brandywine River Valley’s equestrian heritage, back when Hotel Du Pont welcomed guests arriving by horse-drawn carriages as well as automobiles and on foot. Winning the award for “2020 Best Historic Restaurant” by Historic Hotels of America, Le Cavalier features ornate decor, expert service, and French classics as well as modern interpretations of Provençal and North African fare” according to USA Today 10Best.

The top overall hotel restaurant in the county is located in Memphis at Chez Philippe at The Peabody Memphis.

A few drivable hotel restaurants also made the top 10! Lemaire at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia was 6th overall and Kuro at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey was number 3 overall.

Le Cavalier was also just named one of the restaurants worth taking a trip from Philly for by Eater Philadelphia.

Le Cavalier is headed by Chef Tyler Akin who is known for his work at Stock and Res Ispa Cafe.

On top of their normal menus, Le Cavalier also has Summer Wine Dinners.

The dinner features a 5-course tasting menu with wines and spirits selected by a Michelin Star Sommelier.

Fly Direct From Wilmington To These 15 Locations On Avelo Airlines

Avelo Airlines announced their new east coast base  at New Castle Airport earlier this year, with plenty of options to now fly direct from Wilmington.

This has been a game changer for travelers this summer looking to head south out of Delaware.  The days of trekking over to Philadelphia International Airport are becoming a thing of the past for some.

Since February, Avelo Airlines has been consistently adding desirable travel destinations to their growing itinerary.  Most recently, they announced their first nonstop flight to the Caribbean.  Starting this fall, you’ll be able to travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico.  This makes Avelo Airlines the first airline to offer nonstop flights beyond the continental United States from Wilmington at ILG.  So much more convenient than having to head to Philly.  The lines, the traffic, ugh!
