Bobi is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo. The Rafeiro do Alentejo is an excellent farm and estate watch dog. According to The American Kennel Club, since the beginning of the breed’s history, Rafeiros Alentejanos were used in packs as hunting dogs for big game. Though this function has gradually disappeared over time, the breed is a guard dog for property and livestock, watching sheep and cattle more recently.
Bobi has been declared the world’s oldest dog by Guinness World Records. He eats only human food and loves a good nap.
According to his owners, they celebrated his birthday with over 100 people this past Saturday.
The truth is, they had no other explanation for why Bobi is still around and kickin’.
But maybe it does have something to do with him getting a home-cooked meal more often than not.
