Delaware’s Best Brunch Is In Newark!

From breakfast to lunch and dinner…fast food or slow, WJBR listeners love reading our many food articles to get great suggestions!

Brunch is one of our favorite meals, especially with friends!

Of course, brunch can be enjoyed every day of the week, but in my opinion, it’s best on the weekends!

Brunch is defined as;

“a meal, sometimes accompanied by alcoholic drinks (typically champagne or a cocktail). Brunch is typically served between the hours of 10:00AM to 1:30PM. The meal originated in the British hunt breakfast. The word brunch is a portmanteau of breakfast and lunch.”

Problem is, that on weekdays between 10am and 3pm, most of us are at work.  So for the working crowd, we enjoy brunch on the weekends!

Occasionally, at home Mom’s can enjoy a brunch on weekdays while the kids are in school, and that is always a well deserved treat.

The blog site Cheapism recently took a look at the finest brunches in all 50 US states and DC.  They looked at reviews from food experts and diners and combined all that with online ratings.

Delaware’s Best Brunch is at Eggspectation at 507 Stanton Christiana Road.

Eggspectation wants us to know that they are “more than a great brunch”.  They also offer breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

But if you go for brunch, Cheapism says get the highly acclaimed breakfast nachos!

But it all looks great to me on Eggspectation’s Instagram!

Of course as their name suggests, they are egg-centric and you’ll find eggs cooked anyway you can imagine and maybe in ways you’ve never imagined.

The folks at the websites “Yelp” and “Eat This Not That” recently learned and shared where you can find the best breakfast in every state in the United States!

Most days it’s a daily rush to get our kids and ourselves ready for work and school. We may just settle for a breakfast or protein bar, or a bowl of cereal or even worse, no breakfast at all!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! It seems to be something we always rush through. It’s the meal that is the base of getting our day started. But it turns out most of us skip the meal that should energize us for the start of the day.

Then there are those special occasions where we treat ourselves to a breakfast at a local diner or restaurant. A favorite weekend tradition of many is breakfast or brunch out on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

‘Eat This Not That” worked with Yelp by analyzing their Breakfast + Brunch category.

Yelp said:

“This is an all-time list of the best breakfast places in the United States according to Yelp. All the businesses on this list are in the Breakfast + Brunch category. ‘Best’ is measured using an algorithm that looks at the number of reviews and star rating for a business.”

“Eat This Not That” and “Yelp” looked over the top few breakfasts in every state and selected the BEST in each state by exceptional reviews.

Of course, WJBR narrowed down the list to our listening area for your convenience!
