Elkton Welcomes Cops On Rooftops
It might seem weird, but its for a great cause as Elkton welcomes Cops on Rooftops
This Friday September 30th the Chick-Fil-A in Elkton will welcome several Maryland State Troopers that will be camping on on their roof.
This is the second year for this unique fundraiser. The “stunt” raises money for the Cecil County Special Olympics.
According to the Cecil Whig “The event will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Chick-fil-A at 1100 E. Pulaski Hwy. (Route 40). All proceeds – through the collection of donations and through the sale of 2021 Torch Run T-shirts, which will be sold at $15 each – will benefit Cecil County Special Olympics.”
The entire event will run for eleven hours with Maryland State Troopers running different shifts in order to stay on the roof of the Chick-Fil-A.
The troopers will also be stationed in the drive-thru lines to take donations. Making the drive-thru Chick-Fil-A line even more enjoyable than it usually is.
Everyone at Chick-Fil-A is just always so dang nice.
We are all familiar with the Special Olympics and their mission, according to their website, is to “provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.”
It might seem weird, but its for a great cause as Elkton welcomes Cops on Rooftops. So if you are passing through the area this Friday stop by and donate…and grab a delicious chicken sandwich.
