Gov. John Carney Has Issued Stay-At-Home Order
Gov. John Carney has issued a stay-at-home order over the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
The order will go into effect on Tuesday, March 24th at 8am and will remain until May 15th or when the threat of the virus is eliminated.
The order will require non-essential businesses to close.
Delawareans are allowed to leave their homes for “essential” activities only. Outdoor activities is also allowed, as long as social distancing guidelines are followed.
“This was not an easy decision, but it’s the right decision to protect the safety of Delawareans and Delaware families,” said Gov. Carney in a statement. “If you have any questions about whether you should be staying home or going out, stay home. Go to work, and go straight back home. If you don’t need food or other essential items, stay home.”
