Demi Lovato released the video for her powerful new anthem, “I Love Me.” She reflected on the clip, saying, “I can’t put into words just yet what this past year for me has been… but this song focuses on a lot of what’s been going on in my head. We have good days, and we have bad days. The best we can do is be the best version of ourselves and celebrate that with those closest to us. Wanted to also give a special shoutout to all of my lovatics for always being there for me. 2020 is OUR year!”

There are some great aspects to the video, including the opening fight scene Demi is having with herself. There are also several key moments that might have been missed. As Buzzfeed explains, most of them reference Demi’s past. Here’s a look:

At one point, Demi walks past a girl wearing all black that resembles what she looked like during her Confident era.

Demi later walks by a girl with long brown hair and a purple sweater that pays homage to her days as Mitchie Torres on Camp Rock.

Three boys who look like the Jonas Brothers walk by Demi shortly after

The bride and groom dancing in the video resemble her ex Wilder Valderrama and his fiancee Amanda Pacheco

And a moment that stands out in the video is Demi walking past a woman on a stretcher, getting in an ambulance. That is a nod to her 2018 overdose.
