Get The Most Bang For Your Buck At This One Hockessin Restaurant

The prices across the country are climbing on pretty much everything these last few years, including food.

Going out for a date night or family dinner can be super expensive.  You’ve got drinks, appetizers (or two), soups, salads, multiple entrees and if you’ve got room, dessert.  It all adds up and can make for an expensive night out.  While you can always find a quick bite for a reasonable price, where in Delaware can you go to get the most bang for your buck?

The crew over at Lovefood went on a search for just that, the restaurant in each of the 50 states where you’ll find the most bang for your buck.

So, where in Delaware will we find this?  In Hockessin, at The House of William and Merry.

Merry Catanuto and Bill Hoffman are the husband and wife team that own and operate the House of William and Merry. Merry and Bill grew up in northern Delaware and met in 2000 while working together at McGlynns in Pike Creek.

Here’s what Lovefood had to say about this Hockessin restaurant, The House of William and Merry:

Nominated for a James Beard Best Chef Award this year, chef Bill Hoffman and his wife Merry Catanuto whip up some affordable magic at this Hockessin spot. Although it’s not exactly cheap, the elegant menu offers high-quality cooking and ingredients for a more accessible price than usual – think diver scallops, salmon tartare, yellowfin tuna, and beef deckle steak.

How is National Ice Cream Month (July) already over? As summer winds down, we thought we’d share that a Hockessin Ice Cream Shop Named One of America’s Must Try.

As we’ve found out from our WJBR Game of Cones bracket contest, Delawareans are passionate about their favorite ice cream shops.  And we had the votes to prove that.  In fact, look out for another fun, local bracket to come out soon!

The crew over at Thrillst put together a list of the The 40 American Ice Cream Shops You Need to Try Right Now.  We were pumped to see Delaware represented on the list.

So, what is this Hockessin Ice Cream Shop?  None other than Woodside Creamery.  They’ve also been named as Delaware’s Best Ice Cream by Delaware Today.  And they’re serving up some out of the box flavors.  Their menu lists Bacon, Peanut Butter and Jelly and Motor Oil!  Motor Oil?  What’s that?  According to the flavor list, motor oil is Coffee ice cream with a caramel & fudge swirl.  And the caramel is GREEN!

If you’ve got a real sweet tooth, there are a few other ice cream joints not too far from us in Delaware.  One in each of our neighboring states of PA, NJ and MD!  We’ve listed them down below.
