Newtown PA Resident Will Compete On Survivor
Survivor returned to television last Wednesday for it’s 44th season. The highly acclaimed competition show is filming in Fiji.
18 castaways will be forced to split into 3 tribes of 6. The tribes will compete against each other to claim the title.
It’s survival of the fittest and this show definitely has a knack for bringing out the best in people. Simultaneously, it tends to bring out the worst.
In an attempt to divide the weak from the strong, Survivor puts it’s contestants in positions they never would have found themselves in otherwise.
They must apply strategy on the island. Some of the goal is to appear strong but also trustworthy. Many contestants find themselves battling with how to avoid appearing weak while at the same time being the kind of person everyone likes.
Brandon Cottom from Newotwn, Pennsylvania grew up watching the show with his dad, according to CBS News.
Cottom is a security specialist by day, so maybe he possesses some of the necessary skills to win the game? Cottom is also a former American football fullback. He played college football at Purdue University then was drafted as a tight end for the Seattle Seahawks.
“It’s crazy, the thought of excitement and also fear…the thought of can I do this, is this something I’m really able to do? because I’m not who’s used to being outdoors,” he told CBS News Philadelphia’s Janelle Burrell. See his full interview HERE.
Catch Survivor on Wednesday nights on CBS3 to see how Cottom does up against the other 17 contestants.
