You’ll Find Delaware’s Tastiest Margarita In Wilmington

I’ve said it over and over again, there is a day to celebrate most everything.  Today we celebrate National Margarita Day (February 22nd), according to National Calendar Day.  This has to be Jimmy Buffet’s favorite day of the year!

There are many different stories and myths, beginning as early as 1938, as to how and when the margarita was created.

In the December 1953 issue of Esquire magazine, the margarita cocktail was the “Drink of the Month.”  The recipe as printed was:

  • 1 ounce tequila
  • Dash of Triple Sec
  • Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon

Pour over crushed ice, stir.  Rub the rim of a stem glass with a rind of lemon or lime, spin in salt—pour, and sip.  (Wikipedia)

So, where can you find the best margarita in Wilmington?  To find out, we took to the crew over at Eat This.

They went on a search for the best margarita in every state, and their favorite in  Delaware is in Wilmington at Del Pez Mexican Gastropub.

We all love food. And in Delaware, food is serious business. Did you know that there are over 2.000 restaurants in the First State? But we’re looking for the Best Restaurant In Every City In Delaware. No matter where you are in the state.

To be one of the most popular restaurants in any town within the state is a big deal. There’s clearly a lot of competition. It’s hard for me to pick my favorite because of all the different types of cuisine. I may be able to pick out my favorite Mexican, Japanese, Italian, but to choose an overall favorite is tough!

If you ever wondered if your personal favorite is the most popular in town, now you’ll have the answer. There are over 70 towns in Delaware to choose from.  I used Yelp to find the highest rated restaurant in each city/town. So EVERY city and town in Delaware may be a slight exaggeration, but some of the small towns don’t even have restaurants.

I hope you’re not hungry!  If you are, you’ll be running out for a bite after drooling over this list of restaurants you’ll want to try.
