Newark Annual Community Day Festival Returns Sunday September 18th
Newark’s annual Community Day festival will return Sunday September 18th for the first time since before the pandemic.
Don’t miss this day full of good old fashioned family fun.
Newark Parks and Recreation Department is organizing the event which will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you’re planning on attending, it will be held on the University of Delaware Green between Delaware Avenue and Memorial Hall.
According to Newark Post Online, the Director of Newark Parks and Recreation, Paula Ennis says “This is an opportunity for community members, community organizations, businesses, etc. to get out there and show who they are. And for community members to come out and to see what’s all out there in the community”.
What To Expect
Another great aspect of this event is location. The Green provides the perfect outdoor venue for local musicians and demonstration groups. Hundreds of local businesses and nonprofits will have booths set up along The Green.
Also, if you’re going for the food you will not be disappointed. Food vendors will be lined up along Delaware Avenue. Additionally, if you’re bringing the kiddos there is a children’s area. Included in the designated area are games and a scarecrow-making station near Memorial Hall.
There will be two stages set up for special performances; one in front of Memorial Hall and one in front of Wolf Hall.
Who Is Involved?
This event is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
