Waffle House is Opening in Bear

The southern staple is constructing its 4th Delaware location as a new Waffle House is opening in Bear.

Many knew it was coming but the construction on a new Waffle House is Bear is finally underway.  The new location will join locations in Middletown, Smyrna, and Dover when completed.  Elkton also has the breakfast joint.

The new location will be located off Route 40 just East of Salem Church Road. It will occupy the old doctors office building.

It will join many other businesses in the complex. Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology and Game Changers Sports Bar and Grille will be neighbors with the new Waffle House location according to Delaware Business Now. 

It will be right next door to law form Doroshow, Pasquale, Krawitz & Bhaya.

Waffle House has a legendary track record amongst its fans. Eggs, bacon, sausage, and of course waffles highlight the menu of this no-frills chain restaurant.

Waffle House is also known for never closing and serving up their classics 24/7 365.

The chain has begun to expand west and is slowly but surely creating more and more locations up north.

The construction of the new Waffle House had been delayed because of the pandemic. The original plan was for the restaurant to be completed by late 2020.

Waffle house also helps out its surrounding communities on top of serving up classic dishes. According to their website “Our support of local communities continues in times of crisis.  Waffle House restaurants are a welcoming beacon after a storm or other natural disaster.  Our goal is to get open quickly so we can serve our communities in their time of need. ”

If you are planning on a southern road trip there is actually a Waffle House museum! The museum is located in Decatur, GA and contains over 60 years of memorabilia.

Guy Fieri, host of Food Network’s ‘Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives’ has been to Wilmington restaurants on several occasions.

Wilmington has recently been called a location for foodies, and we have so many restaurants now receiving national recognition.  Some for their sweet treats and best wings, burgers or fries.  Hotel DuPont was even listed as one of the best hotels in the United States for their food.  That’s huge!
