Colin Quinn Talks With Deanna Marie Ahead Of His Wilmington Show
Comedian, Actor and Author Colin Quinn took some time to chat with me earlier this week. His tour “The Last Best Hope” was coming to The Baby Grand in Wilmington. You may know Colin Quinn from his time on SNL or MTV’s Remote Control. Although, that’s the tip of the iceberg of his career.
As the anchor on The Weekend Update on SNL, Colin had a knack for taking American Politics and turning it into something we could all relate to. His ability to make politics funny, is what unites a lot of his fan base. Naturally, this takes up the majority of his content for his current tour.
Having written and starred in many shows, he’s a no frills kind of guy. Colin is a straight shooter; what you see is what you get. These are a few reasons why he’s so popular and has had such a longstanding career. These are also characteristics of his that made the interview so enjoyable.
During the pandemic, Colin teamed up with HBO Max for parking lot pop up shows called “A Parking Lot Comedy Show”. He headlined and directed alongside names like Rachel Feinstein, Sam Jay, Bonnie McFarlane, Keith Robinson, Chris DiStefano, Marina Franklin, Dan Soder, and Bobby Kelly. Viewers would show up in their cars and honk their horns instead of hooting and hollering. Way to be Covid cautious and still have fun!
Having a strong reaction to the division of the country and the current state of affairs, Colin continues to make people laugh. Something I think everyone could afford to do a little more often.
