Does Sunscreen Have An Expiration Date?
Sunscreen can be used year round, but most of us only reach for it during the hottest months. If you have some leftover sunscreen from the year before you’ve likely wondered if it’s as effective as a new bottle would be in protecting against the sun.
According to Yahoo.com, the FDA is in charge of sunscreen regulation. Their rules mandate that every sunscreen formula can remain stable for 3 years. Sunscreen does not have to have an expiration on their containers. However, if they are opened or not they will last 3 years from when it was first produced.
Ways to know if your sunscreen has actually gone bad include: getting watery, changing colors, and having a strange smell.
