Updated COVID-19 numbers: 179k+
Here are the latest numbers as COVID-19 fear continues to spur action around the world, according to Johns Hopkins University: There are more than 179,000 cases and more than 7,050 deaths globally.
China has remained nearly flat for weeks, now reporting just over 81,000 cases and more than 4,000 deaths.
However, cases continue to rise in Italy with nearly 28,000 and more than 2,150 deaths. Iran reports nearly 15,000 cases and more than 850 deaths. Spain reports just under 9,500 cases and more than 330 deaths.
The US ranks 8th with more than 4,100 cases and just over 70 deaths.
To date, more than 78,000 have recovered.
