Taylor Swift Thanks Kendrick Lamar for Re-Recording ‘Bad Blood’ Verse
Taylor Swift attends "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" Concert Movie World Premiere at AMC The Grove 14 on October 11, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. Kendrick Lamar attends the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards at The Forum on August 27, 2017 in Inglewood, California.
Taylor Swift gave a shoutout to Kendrick Lamar on Friday (October 27) morning following the release of her re-recording of 1989. The rapper re-recorded his remix verse in her track “Bad Blood” for the deluxe edition of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Swift, 33, wrote on Instagram that watching Lamar create and record his verses on the remix was “one of the most inspiring experiences of my life.”
In the photo she shared of the two of them from what looks like to be the original recording session in 2014, the singer-songwriter adds, “I still look back on this collaboration with so much pride and gratitude, for the ways Kendrick elevated the song and the way he treats everyone around him. Every time the crowds on The Eras Tour would chant his line ‘you forgive, you forget, but you never let it… go!’ I smiled.”
She added in her caption: “The reality that Kendrick would go back in and re-record ‘Bad Blood’ so that I could reclaim and own this work I’m so proud of is surreal and bewildering to me.” 1989 (Taylor’s Version) features five “From the Vault” tracks, including “Slut!,” “Say Don’t Go,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Suburban Legends,” and “Is It Over Now?” There were notably no features on Swift’s “From the Vault” songs this time around. Last month, Swift launched a campaign with Google for fans to solve puzzles in order to unlock the track titles from the vault.
1989 (Taylor’s Version) is the latest of Swift’s re-recordings of her early songs. While she doesn’t own the masters of the original versions, she does own the newer masters. When she announced 1989 was next, the musician said how the 2014 album changed her life “in countless ways.” Released nine years to the day after the original, she called 1989 “My most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind.”
Celebrities That Gained Most Online Fame in 2023
In today’s digital age, celebrity success relies heavily on online popularity. With this in mind, new research has revealed the famous faces who have seen the biggest boom in online fame in 2023. Online casino site ICE36 took at look at this. Taking in data from Google searches, Instagram followers, likes and engagement rates, they determined the celebrities who saw the greatest increase in online popularity in 2023. This group of celebrities consists of a diverse list of athletes, musicians, and actors.
Per Statista, in 2023, over 4.89 billion people were using social media worldwide, a number projected to increase to almost six billion in 2027. These users aren’t tied to a single platform. The average user now spreads their digital footprint across six to seven platforms every month, according to Forbes.
The average individual has about eight social media accounts. In the United States, the average person has seven accounts. In India the number is nearly twelve, while in Japan it nears four. On a global level, the average person spends about 145 minutes on social media. Americans average about two hours and seven minutes daily. To put this into perspective, if the average person maintained this usage over an average life span of 73 years, the end result is an astonishing 5.7 years spent on social media platforms.
As we previously reported, studies have shown time and again that social media has been linked to brain development changes in teenagers. Even the Surgeon General issued a warning of social media’s “profound risk of harm to the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents.” Despite the possible negative effects of social media, which comes with anything used in excess, celebrities entertain their millions of followers. Whether they are plugging a new project they are working on or just being charismatic, these ten celebrities are the most popular online in 2023.
