Delaware Christmas Tree Shops Are Closing
The two Delaware Christmas Tree Shops are closing in the near future.
In fact all Christmas Tree Shops will be closing.
According to CNN ” Christmas Tree Shops will liquidate all of its stores and go out of business unless a white knight comes out of the woodwork at the 11th hour.The discount retail chain, which sold a variety of home goods, disclosed in a court filing last week that it defaulted on a $45 million loan and is closing its roughly 70 stores in the coming weeks.”
The Christmas Tree Shops warned customers of the potential closing back in May of this year and rumors began to swirl that it’s Delaware stores could be no more.
Alongside the Christmas Tree Shops liquidation is Bed Bath & Beyond and Tuesday Morning.
The Christmas Tree Shops was owned by Bed Bath & Beyond up until 2020.
You could really find ANYTHING inside a Christmas Tree Shop.
I once bought 3 bottles of spicy mayo and a Santa that mooned people inside. You could get lost very easily.
The Christmas Tree Shops recently rebranded as CTS in hopes to attract new consumers. Th rebrand was meant to get the message across that they sold more than Christmas goods.
“Last year it was reported that the company would be rebranded as “CTS” because people outside of New England believed they only sold Christmas trees. The CEO said at the time there were plans to open another 15 stores with the new CTS name” CBS reports.
The Christmas Tree Shops currently operates stores in Delaware at 5450 Brandywine Parkway Wilmington, DE 19803 and at 19563 Coastal Highway #3 Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
“Christmas Tree Shops is an American chain of specialty retail stores headquartered in Middleboro, Massachusetts . As of 2023, the chain operates 82 stores in 20 U.S. states” according to their Wikipedia page.
There is no word on when two Delaware Christmas Tree Shops will close.
