Bethany Beach 4th Of July Fireworks Moved To September
If you planned on checking out the Bethany Beach 4th of July fireworks show, you may want to find a backup plan.
The annual and popular patriotic display has been moved to Labor Day Weekend.
According to a statement on the Town of Bethany Beach’s website “Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Bethany Beach will be rescheduling its July 4th Fireworks to Sunday, September 3 of Labor Day Weekend. The fireworks will immediately follow Still Surfin’s performance Sunday evening.”
The Army Corps of Engineers started the Bethany Beach replenishment this month. The replenishment was originally said to take between 15 and 25 days to complete.
“This 2023 replenishment project, which also includes Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, South Bethany and Fenwick Island, costs in excess of 24 million dollars” The Town of Bethany Beach newsletter stated.
The project will see 320,000 cubic yards of sand used for beaches and dunes. Sections of the beach will be closed and crossovers will be built and dune grasses will be planted in the fall.
The fireworks display will follow the performance from ‘Still Surfin’ at the Bandstand that evening.
There may be no fireworks show but there is plenty of entertainment the weekend of the 4th in Bethany.
Mike Hines & The Look will perform on the Bethany Beach Bandstand July 4th at 7:30 pm as part of their July 4th Celebration Week. This is a free event.
The 287th Army Band will also appear on the Bethany Beach Bandstand July 2nd at 7:30 pm as part of Bethany Beach’s July 4th Celebration Week and is another free event.
You can find the full schedule for all the festivities at the Bethany Beach 4th of July celebration week on their Facebook page.
