Travel + Leisure has released their “10 Most Beautiful and Affordable Places to Live in the U.S.” list and Pittsburgh made the Top 10!

The website says “The sweeping Pittsburgh skyline views showcase a growing city with its roots in the steel industry and its sights set on continuing to diversify its job market. Additionally, Pittsburgh’s dynamic culinary scene and substantial cultural district create an environment that’s alluring to young families. Though the house prices here have begun rising alongside the job growth, the median housing cost sits at approximately $222,000, which is more affordable than other major cities in the U.S.”

Hickory, North Carolina came in 1st overall on the list.

Travel + Leisure determined their rankings through a few different statistics and methods.

First they used data from the 2022-2023 list of U.S. News & World Report’s rankings.

They combined the most beautiful places to live and most affordable places to live into one list.

The rankings take into account cost of living, median monthly rent, median house pricing compared to the national median, and quality of life.

According to Redfin over the last month in Pittsburgh the median house price was around $212k.

The median rental price was $1,462 for an average of 809 square feet according to RentCafe.

The East Liberty neighborhood was the highest rent compared to Perry South which held the lowest rent.
