It was announced earlier this week that Foot Locker will be closing many of their brick and mortar stores very soon.
The popular store announced that they will close 400 stores by the year 2026.
They will be closing their lowest performing stores.
Foot Lockers plan will include opening new stores however…just with a different concept.
According to Fox News “The company’s new “Lace Up” business plan was revealed by executives at an investor day in New York City on Monday. The plan included opening free-standing shops targeting niche consumers such as sneakerheads, children and higher-income shoppers.”
The company will also look tom refresh its relationship with sportswear brand Nike.
Foot Locker reports that their brick and mortar stores only represent around 10% of their actual sales.
No word on which stores will be closing in the future but there are quite a few in our area including:
4737 Concord Pike Suite 300
Wilmington, DE 19803

The company also plans to close 125 underperforming Champs Sports stores.
No word on which stores will be closing but according to a press release “The closing stores are in 200 C/D malls and 200 lower-performing A/B malls.”
“Foot Locker has about 1,300 stores in malls in North America. It expects to close as many as 420 by 2026 to focus on its best-performing stores. The company expects to close 25% of its stores in A- and B-rated malls and 50% of its stores in C- and D-rated malls”
