Hallmark Has Chosen This Pennsylvania Town For It’s ‘Christmas Cam’
Known for everything Christmas, Hallmark has chosen this Pennsylvania town for it’s “Christmas Cam.”
It’s Bethlehem, PA!
Bethlehem was chosen alongside four other towns in the United States because of it’s commitment to the holiday.
According to MLive.com “To spread Christmas cheer and delight, the network is teaming up with towns across the country that evoke the real-life essence of the festive communities featured in Hallmark holiday movies to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to Hallmark Channel’s website for people everywhere looking to relax, indulge and be inspired to get into the holiday spirit.”
The cameras will be live 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nov. 27 to Dec. 30. Other towns featured this year are St. Paul, Minn., Harbor Springs, Mich., and Gaffer District – Corning, N.Y.
Bethlehem is known as Christmas City, USA. According to their website:
On Christmas Eve 1741, in a stable, while a small group of Moravians were singing a hymn with the stanza “Not Jerusalem, Lowly Bethlehem” Count Nicolaus Ludwig Von Zinzendorf christened this little town “Bethlehem”. Since that time Christmas in Bethlehem has been central to the city’s identity. From the first documented decorated Christmas tree in America to the efforts of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce to get Bethlehem nicknamed “Christmas City USA” in 1937, to the current time when both sides of the river boast Christmas markets filled with artisan craft, retail and food vendors, Bethlehem is rife with one Christmas celebration after another.
You can see a livestream of all the chosen towns here.
Bethlehem is such a short drive away and has so many amazing restaurant’s and shops. I have been going there since I was a child and couldn’t recommend it more. Make sure to check out The Wooden Match and Mach’s Gute for some incredible food.
