Time to gather with loved ones and see the lights! The Bethany Beach Tree Lighting is this weekend.

There is no rain date for this event but everyone is welcome to the Bethany Beach Tree Lighting on December 3rd!

According to the Cape Gazette “The annual holiday tree lighting will take place at 5 p.m. at the Bandstand Plaza. A special concert will feature the Southern Delaware School of the Arts Show Choir. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of hats, gloves, scarves and canned goods that will be delivered to local charities. Those who cannot attend the event can watch it from the Boardwalk West View beach cam on the town website at townofbethanybeach.com/365/Beach-Cams.”

They also report “Weekend Wonderland in Bethany, a town-wide collaboration with the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce and participating businesses, will offer special activities and incentives from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the three Saturdays leading up to Christmas, Dec. 3, Dec. 10, and Dec. 17.”

Santa will be making his annual appearance from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the town hall.

Refreshments will be provided and include hot cocoa and some Christmas cookies.

Children can get their face painted and drop off their letters to Kris Kringle. They can also write letters to the big guy onsite.

Attendees can also enjoy trolley rides as well as tractor rides along the beach! The rides will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

More trolleys will start running at 6 p.m. If you would like a ride you can get picked up at these locations Bethany Beach Books, Grotto Pizza next to the nature center, and South Coastal Library.

There will also be a choir performance at the tree lighting! It’s a perfect family event to kick off the holiday season.

It’s that time of year again! Get out the decorations and maybe add some of these Delaware themed ornaments to your tree.

Ornaments are passed down through generations, so why not start a new tradition with these quirky decorations?

While searching for gifts on Etsy I came across a store called Jawnaments.  I was honestly shocked!  How cool is this?  And the name Jawnaments is hilarious.  Our tiny little state is represented so well.

Check out all of Jawnaments creations in their store front on Etsy.

The owner of the Etsy shops makes Philly and the surrounding area themed ornaments for your Christmas tree.  If you’re from Philly, you’ll love the Mummer’s and Reading Terminal ornaments.

Hopefully you’ll be able to find a spot on your tree to add some or all of these Delaware themed ornaments.

How cool would an all Delaware tree be?  We might be on to something here for the WJBR studio.  We are Delaware’s Christmas Station after all.
