Paramount+ Series ‘Lioness’ Filmed at Cape Henlopen
Early this month, a Paramount+ series ‘Lioness’ filmed at Cape Henlopen State Park.
A yacht anchored offshore, as production team members, crew and cast posted up on the beach through Herring Point parking lot.
First State Officials were on set along with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control. Passersby stopped to watch everything in action. Who wouldn’t want to check out a live action movie set?
Part of the filming also took place in Maryland and other parts of Baltimore. Just last week, other parts of the series filmed near the White House.
“Lioness” is being produced by “Yellowstone” creator, Taylor Sheridan. Yellowstone has run for 5 seasons so far and stars Kevin Costner as a widowed rancher who tries to preserve Yellowstone Ranch.
Apparently, the story of “Lioness” is based around a young Marine recruited into the CIA’s Lioness Engagement team. Their mission is to bring down a terrorist organization from within.
Zoe Saldana, known for Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy, is cast in a power role as the station chief. Saldana is a New Jersey native and grew up in Passaic County.
Other cast members of the new drama will include: James Jordan (Mayor of Kingstown), LaMonica Garrett (Sons of Anarchy/ Designated Survivor), Dave Annable (Brothers and Sisters) and Taylor Sheridan (Sons of Anarchy).
The series is set to air in 2023 with a premier date to be announced later.
According to the Maryland Department of Commerce, this is not the first time that our area has seen some major film stars. The final season of “House of Cards” was filmed in Maryland and hired more than 1600 locals. The project also supported about 1700 different Maryland based businesses. The economic impact was over $100 million.
Additionally, photos of the shoot can be seen at Delaware Online. The photos include some celebrity sightings and many recognizable parts of Delaware beaches.
Delaware Ranks Near The Bottom Of UFO Sightings Rankings
Have you seen one?! Chances are you haven’t because Delaware ranks near the bottom of UFO sighting rankings.
Maybe its because we are so close to an air base, but overall Delaware ranks 48th of out the 50 states in total reported UFO sighting of all time.
According to MyVision.org “While some might assume Nevada, home to the so-called “Area 51,” might take home first prize for alien sightings, golden California takes the cake instead with nearly TWICE the amount of sightings of any other state at 15,401. According to the NUFORC, which has been reporting UFO sightings since 1974, the other top states include Florida, Washington, Texas, New York, and Pennsylvania. New Mexico, home to the UFO-famous Roswell, comes in 28th, while Nevada takes 27th. ”
Over the last 5 years however Delaware saw a 24% increase in UFO sightings compared to all time.
So if there are UFO sighting the question should arrise….are aliens friendly?
According to “Americans are divided as to whether aliens are friendly or not- it’s a 50/50 split. What they do know, though, is that the prospect of alien invasion scares them: over 1 in 6 are scared of an invasion, 41% think aliens are dangerous, and 1 in 4 are scared by the idea of alien existence at all.”
Naturally, people were asked which fictional alien they would love to be friends with? Fan favorites include E.T., Men in Black, Independence Day, Alien, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
More than 1 in 10 Americans think movie portrayals of aliens and UFOs are accurate. I am not sure I agree there, but I wouldn’t mind sitting at a bar with one!
Have you seen one?! Chances are you haven’t because Delaware ranks near the bottom of UFO sighting rankings.
